Pictures Galore

I love taking pictures of Lincoln.  I find it hard deleting pictures off of the camera even though I have them online, on Facebook, on the blog...  We still haven't deleted the pictures from the hospital and his first few weeks at home.  I love looking back at them and seeing how far we've come.

I am so lucky to have my friend Jennifer who loves taking pictures of Lincoln maybe even more than I do.  She's been over a few times to take pictures of Lincoln.  I love that she's helping us document his life.  Jenn was over last weekend.  Here are some of the latest and greatest:

She took the picture on the top of the blog of Lincoln in his pageboy hat.  I love that picture!  I'm not ready just yet to switch it out.

What "They" DON'T Tell You

As soon as you find out you're pregnant, everyone is full of advice and stories.  Everyone wants to tell you what their pregnancy was like, what THEIR labor was like.  No one hesitates to tell you how hard it is to adjust to having a little baby at home, or how the sleepless nights can get to you.  People tell you the good things like how your baby will smile at you and your crappy day suddenly doesn't seem so crappy  Or how boring Friday nights at home aren't so bad anymore.

I listened to everyone's stories and advice (warranted or unwarranted) and I appreciate it all.  I am, however, unhappy that no one ever warned me about (drumroll): poop and puke and a seriously sick baby!  OH MY GOSH.

I'll spare all the details of his illness, but it was gross!  There were poopy diapers and throwing up everywhere.  I brought Lincoln to the doctor this morning and he just has a stomach bug.  Kirk is probably immune to it with all the viruses he's exposed to, but I'm afraid Lincoln will give it to me!

Thankfully, he's feeling better already.  As you can tell from these photos, he's almost back to his normal little self.

My Future Daughter-in-Law

Yesterday my very bestest friend Sarah came to visit with her two little sweeties.  We don't live very far from each other, but it seems so difficult to make plans with our busy schedules.  Sare was one of my roommates in college and has been one of my closest friends ever since.

Sarah (and her husband, Andy) has 2 adorable little girls.  Nina is 3 and Vivi is 10 months.  I'm so happy to report to you all that Lincoln and Vivi hit it off really well yesterday.  They seemed to have a very special bond...Sare and I are pretty sure it's love.

I stole a couple of ideas from Joelee's nanny: we played with spaghetti and Jell-o.   Vivi and Lincoln took a pass on the spaghetti, but they both loved the Jell-o.  Nina had so much fun with the pasta!

Spring is in the air!  Having Lincoln gives Kirk and I EXTRA motivation to get outside and enjoy the fresh air.  It's been great getting out and enjoying the nice weather.  I'm so happy this is just the beginning of the warm weather...the best is yet to come!

Jagged Edges

For the last 4 months, we've been thinking Lincoln is getting a tooth.  I'm not kidding.  We always blamed his bad mood on teething.  He'd cry: we'd blame a tooth.  He'd get a bad night's sleep:  had to be a tooth.  The ladies at day care even told me they thought he was getting a tooth about a month ago.  I cried.  I wasn't ready for him to get a tooth.

Last week I predicted Lincoln would have his first tooth by the end of the week.  Weeeellll, I guess mommies know best.  :)  Thursday when Linc got home from day care, I was playing with him and as he loves to do, he bit down on my finger and felt the little jagged edges of his first tooth.  I tried to get him to open his mouth so I could get a good picture of it, but it's darn near impossible!  You can feel it and the darn thing HURTS, but it's almost impossible to see.

This was as good of a picture as I could get:

On a side note, we hope you all enjoyed your Easter. I'm failing at my picture taking skills. I love Joelee's camera so when we get together, I always snap away with her camera. We went over to Joelee and Jason's for the day. It's so fun to have all of the kids together! I'm thinking Jo will probably have an Easter blog up soon (maybe??) with pictures from yesterday. Kirk and I didn't even take a picture of Lincoln before we left in his little Easter outfit. Oh well, there will be many more Easter outfits.
